国際委員会

PMI日本支部は、米国に本部を置くプロジェクトマネジメント協会(略称:PMI)の日本で唯一の支部として、我が国におけるPMの普及･啓蒙にあたっております。
国際委員会は、このPMI日本支部の中にあって、プロジェクトマネジメントに関する海外情報の国内への発信や日本国内情報の海外発信を目的に、下記のような活動を行っております。
国内外で国際的なプロジェクトマネジメントを実践されている方で、本委員会の趣旨と目的に理解と熱意をお持ちの方を、国籍や在住地を問わず募集いたします。
因みに、現在の委員会メンバーの国籍は、日本・中国・インド・マレーシア・米国です。

国際委員会で現在活動中のテーマは、下記のようなものがあります。これら以外でも委員会の趣旨に相応しいものがあれば積極的に取り上げて行きたいと思っています。

公共PMWG

公共事業アカウンタビリティー向上の手段としてのプロジェクトマネジメント手法の適用事例を調査しています。一昨年よりNY州PMガイドラインに関する調査を実施し、それを踏まえてNY州政府への訪問、今年はNY州担当者を招聘して、日本の公共プロジェクト担当者からの発表を交えて特別セミナーを開催しました。
その概要とコメントを邦文/英文にて紹介しています。

PMBOKの日本的適用についての情報収集WG

PMBOKの考え方を日本市場に適用する際の課題、独特な適用例などについての調査を通して、プロジェクトマネジメント手法に関する異文化コミュニケーションに関係する諸問題について議論の場を提供します。在京外資企業に働く方々なども是非ご参加ください。

海外チャプターとの交流

過去にはUpstate NY Chapterとの交流を持ち、この内容は、PMITodayでも紹介されています。2008年度は、インド・プネ・デカン支部との交流事業がスタートしました。

1. PMに関して、様々な情報に接し、深い知識を得る機会が得られます。
2. 自らの知識や経験を、委員会活動成果物に反映させることができます。
3. PMI日本支部の様々な活動に接する機会が得られます。
4. PMI日本支部で活動する多くのPM経験者とネットワーキング構築の機会が得られます。
5. 委員会活動に参加した場合、年間で最大5PDUを取得できます。

1. 定期的な会合を開催します(原則、月1回を予定)
   注)首都圏以外もしくは海外在住の方は、会合への出席が免除されます。
2. 活動は年度(1月1日～12月31日)で行います。
3. 電子メール、その他のコミュニケーション・ツールを活用して、効率的に進めます。

1)応募資格

• 上記の趣旨に賛同いただき、委員会活動に積極的に貢献していただける方。
• PMを通した異文化交流の経験と深い知識を有する方。
• PMI日本支部の会員もしくは加入を予定されている方。
  注)本部会員であるだけではなく、支部会員登録が必要となります。
• 委員会に継続的に出席可能な方。もしくは、首都圏以外あるいは海外在住の会員で、インターネット等を使い継続的に委員会活動に貢献していただける方。

Tokyo chapter of PMI, herein after abbreviated as PMIT, is an only extended Japan chapter authorized by PMI Headquarter, devoting effort of promotion and enlightening project management practices in Japan.
International Relations Committee, an international gateway of PMIT, is in charge of communicating with foreign counterparts as well as of actively presenting Japanese PM practices for those who are interested in Japan.
For PMIT members, regardless of nationality or working location, who are keen to and have been already involved in the international project management, why don't you join International Relations Committee! It surely provides you of opportunities to broaden your international awareness and networking. PMIT also appreciates your enthusiasm and volunteer. Nationality of current member is Japan, China, India, Malaysia and USA.

International Relations Committee's activities are described as below. However, it is not limited to those only; Committee will definitely pick up other activities you propose as far as it is contribute to the promotion of international exchange for project management practices.
 

Public Project Management WG

The Committee has been interested to study overseas best practices of project management enabling to improve the accountability and efficiency of public services. This working group have been scrutinizing the New York State Project Management Guideline in comparison to other US state. A member of group visited NY state government for that. The committee stepped in further last year and held the Japan-US joint seminar on Public Project Management Practices in Tokyo, with the attendance of two ladies from NY state government. This initiative is to be publicized shortly on PMI publications. The committee invited a faculty of Portland State University, Prof. Nishishiba for her lecture on PM practices in US local governments.

PMBOK realignment to Japanese Way of Business WG

Through the investigation and interviews with foreign expatriates familiar to Japanese business, this working group aims to make clear some PMBOK practices needs to be adjusted for more workable fashion here in Japan. It will provide the opportunity for discussing cross-cultural issues in terms of project management.
Those who work for foreign company's local office will be greatly encouraged to join.

Exchange with Foreign Counterparts

A member visited Upstate NY Chapter when he had meeting with NY state government in Albany, NY. It was publicized by PMI Today. Last year, PMIT sent its delegate to EMEA2007 World Congress at Budapest, Hungary and visited British Petroleum, UK, and discussed BP's Project Academy. The exchange with Pune, Deccan Chapter, India started this year.

1. Opportunity to expose yourself for much broader and more in-depth knowledge on project management
2. Exercise your initiatives to make most of experience and knowledge in international project management
3. Opportunities to access to a variety of activities of PMIT
4. Networking with other PMIT volunteer members。
5. Maximum 5 PDUs for a year volunteer

1. Monthly committee meeting (Tokyo area)
   Those located in non-Tokyo area are exempted from attendance.
2. Fiscal reporting year starts 1 of January
3. Maximum use of email and other communication links

1) Prerequisite

• Those who agree to above mentioned volunteer missions and willing to participate
• Cross-cultural experience and knowledge through project management practices
• Registered in PMI Tokyo Chapter Member
• Those who are able to attend regular meeting or to continuously contribute to discussion through internet.
